Meet Lizzie, The Daredevil Chicken

There is no work shortage for chickens these days. Click here if you can't see the video below.

This chicken named Lizzie is the official spokes-hen for a certain camera phone. She is absolutely a.maz.ing. You really won't believe your eyes! Who knew chickens had so much to contribute to technology?

The Imperial March- Barked and Classical?

The Bark Side -- It's not the only Super Bowl ad evoking past hit movies. Volkswagen, which had a hit last year with its little Darth Vader ad, will be tapping into the Force once again with dogs barking out the Imperial March.

Darth Vader's Theme -- I wasn't sure what I was listening to at first with the dogs until I heard it played by an orchestra. I think they did a good job after I listened to the barking version again. It is going to be a Super Bowl hit!

Bach On a Giant Wooden Xylophone In a Forest

This is the most amazing thing you'll ever see or hear. Please watch -- I promise you will love it.
Bach’s Cantata 147, ‘Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring’ Played On a Giant Wooden Xylophone In a Forest

"The video is a commercial for a phone of which there are only 15,000 being made. By combining who knows how many pieces of wood, they were able to make a long, downhill track in a forest in Southern Japan that was able to reproduce Bach’s Cantata 147, Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring. This is a pretty phenomenal achievement and a beautiful piece of art."

Andy Warhol and Ralph Waldo Emerson

I think Andy Warhol's Advertising Artwork is the perfect image for Ralph Waldo Emerson's quote. Agreed?

Jantzen Swimwear is 100 Years Old

Boy, does this ever make me feel old. I loved Jantzen bathing suits and always bought them. I really didn't even realize they were still in business and I certainly did not know the company was founded in 1910. How very smart of them to revive the line thanks to all that free advertising on MAD MEN. I thought it was very bold of Don Draper to dismiss them the way he did on the season premier. They deserved it for being so narrow-minded. View their creative 2010 ad campaign here. Do you think bathing caps will come back too?

A Totally Knitted Home

Natural gas commercial

This is so clever. Imagine every surface of your home covered with knitting. Amazing and warm I would imagine. I try to remember that there are people in other parts of the world that are going into colder weather as we are going into our spring mode. This is for the people down under.

Advertising Phrenology Head | Boehm Porcelain

Porcelain Phrenology Head by Edward Boehm

This beautiful Phrenology Head was made by noted sculptor Edward Marshall Boehm in the 1950s for the Schering Pharmaceutical Company to advertise their new drug called ETRAFON. The uncommon medical collectible is 5" tall with highly detail head analysis areas shown and the "Etrafon" drug advertisement stamped on back. On the bottom is sculptor's incised mark "Boehm". Etrafon is an antipsychotic drug of intermediate potency used in the treatment of disorganized and psychotic thinking and sometimes used to help treat false perceptions, hallucinations and delusions. Thus, the infamous phrenology diagnosis head that L.N. Fowler made famous in the 1800s was used to advertise the new drug. Only a few of these unique items were produced and given to doctors to help promote the drug. This rare and seldom found 50+ year old piece is in excellent condition and will highlight any collection of antique medical memorabilia. From my personal collection.

Eat Ice Cream For Daily Happiness

This is such good advice. My motto: A day without ice cream is like a day without sunshine.
